Car bomb kills 2 outside governor’s office in southern Turkey


          At least two people have been killed after a suspected car bombing outside the governor's office in Turkey's southern city of Adana, officials and witnesses say. More than a dozen others have been injured. (more)

The attack happened just after 8 a.m. local time on Thursday when a loud explosion was heard outside the governor's office in Adana. Witnesses reported seeing multiple vehicles on fire in the building's parking lot.

A large number of emergency workers rushed to the scene and thick plumes of black smoke were seen billowing from the site. A Turkish security official confirmed the blast was is believed to have been caused by a car bombing.

At least two people were killed in the explosion and 16 others have been injured, the governor's office said, providing no information about the conditions of those wounded. There was no immediate claim of responsibility for the attack.
