Two men have been seriously injured after an assault at a petrol station on Tudor Street in Cardiff, according to South Wales Police. No arrests were immediately made. (more)
The incident happened shortly before 7 p.m. on Friday when police were called to reports of a serious assault at the Texaco filling station, which is close to the Cardiff Central railway station. Details about the circumstances of the assault were not immediately available.
"Armed officers were deployed in order to ensure the safety of the public and police officers at the scene. Two males were conveyed to hospital with significant injuries," South Wales Police said in an emailed statement. There was no word on the cause of their injuries.
It was also not immediately clear whether the assault occurred inside or outside the petrol station.
No arrests were made as of late Friday evening but an investigation is underway. Police are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone having any information which could help investigators to call South Wales Police on 101 quoting incident number 1700120987.
