Kansas Amber Alert: 3 children abducted from Wichita

          UPDATE: The suspect is in custody and all three children have been recovered safely in the 4500 block of S. Broadway in Wichita.

A Kansas Amber Alert has been issued for three young boys after they were allegedly abducted from Wichita following a deadly house fire, local officials say. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 immediately. (more)

The incident happened at 12:21 p.m. on Friday when firefighters responded to a fire at a residence at 321 N. Ash Street in Wichita. During their work at the scene, they discovered a deceased woman whose death is being treated as suspicious.

Investigators from the Wichita Police Department believe that the three missing children are associated with the victim, whose identity has not yet been released. The children are believed to have been taken by 29-year-old Dane A. Wright.

The suspect is believed to have taken the children in a white 2001 Ford Focus 4DR with license tag 718JHX. It is unknown where Wright may be taking the boys and investigators have not commented on the exact nature of his relationship with the children.

The children have been identified as 12-year-old William J Thompson III, 5-year-old Ethan A Thompson, and 2-year-old Damien A Wright. All three children are described as biracial. The suspect is described as a 29-year-old white, balding male with hazel eyes, standing 6 feet tall and weighing about 158 pounds.

Anyone who sees the children, the suspect, or the suspect vehicle is urged to call 911 immediately, or call the Wichita Police Department at 316-383-4661 if you have any other information that could help investigators in their search.
