Actress and singer Naya Rivera, who is well-known for playing Santana Lopez on the comedy TV series "Glee," has been arrested at her home in West Virginia over the alleged domestic battery on her husband, officials say.
The incident happened on late Saturday evening when deputies were called to a home in the Chesapeake area of Kanawha County. Only few details about what happened were immediately released.
According to initial reports, Rivera was taken into custody on charges of domestic battery for allegedly hitting her husband, Ryan Dorsey, who she married in 2014. It followed an argument between the couple and the incident was reportedly caught on video.
It was not immediately known whether Dorsey was injured in the alleged assault, which happened at their home. Rivera was released from custody on personal recognizance on Sunday morning and the investigation is ongoing.
Rivera, who is 30 years old, achieved fame for portraying Santana Lopez on the musical comedy-drama "Glee," which aired on FOX from 2009 to 2015. She also played the role of Hillary Winston on "The Royal Family" when she was just 4 years old, earning her a Young Artist Award nomination.
