Shooting at Providence Place Mall in Rhode Island, at least 1 victim

Police and other emergency services in Rhode Island are responding to reports of a shooting with 1 victim at the Providence Place Mall. The mall has been put on lockdown as a precaution but there is no active shooter.

The incident happened on late Monday afternoon when officers were called to reports of an active shooter at the Providence Place Mall. When they arrived, they found a 19-year-old man who was suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

As a result of the incident, the mall has been put on lockdown as a precaution, but there is no indication of an active shooter situation. The shooting is believed to have taken place in the parking garage outside Nordstrom.

A large number of police officers - many of whom were seen with their guns drawn - were called to the scene. Parts of the mall were put on lockdown while other parts of the complex were being evacuated as officers cleared the scene.

There was no immediate word on the exact circumstances of Monday's shooting or whether any suspects were taken into custody.
