Georgia Amber Alert: Melissa Molina abducted from Winder

A Georgia Amber Alert has been issued for 16-year-old Melissa Molina after she was allegedly abducted from Winder by an older man, Barrow County officials say. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 immediately. (more)

The incident happened on Wednesday when Melissa was seen getting into a vehicle which was allegedly driven by 33-year-old Roger Lanford. The vehicle drove off at a high rate of speed and was driving recklessly as it passed vehicles.

Lanford is believed to have taken Melissa in a white 2004 Nissan Maxima with Georgia license tag PBD6016. It is unknown where they are heading but Melissa was last seen at Dee Kennedy Road, northwest of Winder.

Details about the circumstances of Melissa's disappearance have not been released.

Melissa is described as a 16-year-old Hispanic female, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 180 pounds. She was last seen wearing black pants and an orange sweater. Lanford is a 34-year-old white male, standing 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 144 pounds.

Anyone who sees either Melissa, Lanford, or the suspect vehicle is urged to call 911 immediately, or call the Barrow County Sheriff's Office at 770-307-3080 if you have any other information that could help investigators.
