Authorities have identified the Bastille Day attacker as Mohamed Lahouaiej Bouhlel, 31, a French-Tunisian man, who the Paris prosecutor's office says was known for threats and violence, but unknown to intelligence agencies and had no prior signs of radicalization. (more)

-While Thursday's attack has the hallmarks of a jihadist attack, it was unclear if Bouhlel, a Tunisian-born delivery driver and divorced father-of-three, had any ties to a terrorist group. An investigation remains underway and no claims of responsibility have been made so far.

-Bouhlel, had been arrested in March and convicted of voluntary violence with a weapon, and was known to police for threats of violence and petty theft between 2010 and 2016.

-In addition to 84 dead, 202 people were injured in Nice attack, including 52 who are in critical condition. Among the 84 dead in Nice, France, 10 were children and teenagers, according to the Paris prosecutor's office.

-Bouhlel's ex-wife has been taken into custody.

-Obama has ordered U.S. flags to be flown at half-staff across the nation until Tuesday night to honor France attack victims.

-Two Americans were among those killed in the attack, according to the U.S. State Department.
