3 dead after crossbow attack in Scarborough, Toronto

Three people have been killed after an attack involving a crossbow in the district of Scarborough in eastern Toronto, Canadian officials say. A suspect has been taken into custody and taken to hospital but his motive is unknown. (more)
The incident happened on early Thursday afternoon when police and medics were called to reports of a stabbing with multiple victims in the area of Lawndale Road and Argo Road. A crossbow was located near the scene.
The Toronto Police Service confirmed that three people - two men and a woman - had been killed in the attack. All three victims were adults but further information about their identities was not immediately available.
The suspect - an unidentified male - was taken into custody at the scene and taken to an area hospital for treatment of minor injuries. Details about a possible motive were not yet known and it is unclear whether the man knew the victims.
Streets in the area have been closed and homicide investigators are at the scene to start their investigation.
