Kirsten Fritch, a 16-year-old Texas girl who was abducted from Baytown after her mother and sister were murdered, has been found dead in a wooded area in Texas City, officials say. Her boyfriend has been arrested.

The amber alert was issued on Tuesday after Kirsten's mother, 37-year-old Cynthia Morris, and Kirsten's 13-year-old sister, Breanna Pavilicek, were found shot to death inside inside a residence in Baytown. Officers found the bodies after they were called for a welfare check.

Investigators later identified Kirsten's boyfriend, 21-year-old Jesse Christian Dobbs, as a suspect in the murders and the abduction. Dobbs was arrested near Texas City on Tuesday night but has so far refused to talk to investigators.

On Thursday afternoon, police announced that a body had been found in a wooded area near 34th Street in Texas City. A formal identification of Kirsten is still pending but authorities said they were confident that it is Kirsten.

There was no immediate word on a possible cause of death for Kirsten.

Anyone with information about the murders is asked to call the Baytown Police Department at 281-422-8371.
