The incident happened on early Friday afternoon when officers responded to East 55th Avenue and Argyle Street at the Southwest corner of David Thompson Secondary School, where they located a woman's body.

Constable Jason Doucette of the Vancouver Police Department said detectives are responding to the scene to determine whether the death is suspicious. "Based on the initial information collected at the scene, officers do not believe the public are at risk," he said.

Friday is a professional day, which means there were no classes at the school.
