Anna Repkina, a 27-year-old Russian woman who recently moved to the United States, was killed "execution-style" after she became involved in a love triangle, Oregon prosecutors say. Her boyfriend is in custody. (more)

The murder was discovered at about 5 p.m. on April 17 when security personnel found a woman's body on private timber land near the small community of Alsea in Benton County, which is located about 90 miles (146 kilometers) southwest of Portland.

On Monday, the Benton County Sheriff's Office identified the victim as Anna Alekseyevna Repkina from Moscow. She arrived in the U.S. on March 1 when she went through Customs at Los Angeles International Airport. She had no known relatives living in the United States.

William Hargrove, a 27-year-old man from Corvallis who was locally known for having worked at The Peacock Bar & Grill, is believed to have lived with 2 women, one of them Repkina, in 2 separate homes in Corvallis. He was arrested on April 19 and charged with murder, to which he has pleaded not guilty.

"This matter involves a rather problematic love triangle where the defendant was living with two different women in two different households," prosecutor Amie Matusko said. "[The other woman] gave the defendant an ultimatum: 'Her or me,' and the defendant decided to, well, he took the victim out to a very remote logging location and she was found shot dead in the back of her head execution-style."

It was not immediately clear what caused Repkina to move to the United States, but she used Facebook to announce on December 29 that she was in a relationship. It was followed by a second announcement on January 7 that said she was engaged. Her next announcement said she was moving to Oregon.

Other details about the case were not immediately available.
