‘Skeptic Feminist’ member arrested in woman’s murder in Colorado

Aleksandr Kolpakov, a Colorado man who is known online as "Russian Deadpool" and a member of "The Skeptic Feminist", has been arrested and charged over the fatal shooting of a woman, local officials say. Only few details have been released. (more)

The incident happened at 9:41 p.m. on Saturday when deputies were called to 3296 1/2 Lombardy Lane in Clifton for a report of gunshots. When Deputies arrived, they found an injured woman outside the residence. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

"An adult male suspect was taken into custody at the same location and he was transported to St. Mary's Hospital for an evaluation," the Mesa County Sheriff's Office said. The suspect was later transported to the Mesa County Detention Facility.

Deputies have identified the suspect as 29-year-old Aleksandr Kolpakov of Clifton, though the nature of his relationship to the victim has not yet been disclosed. Kolpakov had reportedly being living with the woman, whose identity has not yet been released pending notification of her family.

Kolpakov is known online under the name "Russian Deadpool" and is a member of "The Skeptic Feminist."

He is reportedly also the president of Western Colorado Atheists and Freethinkers, a group which made local news last year when they posted "atheist and satanic brochures" at Delta Middle School and Delta High School. Kolpakov appeared in several TV interviews at the time.
