Kiaya was last seen at about 8 p.m. on Wednesday when she and a 15-year-old friend were walking to a shopping center. The two became separated in the 12400 block of Forest Drive during heavy rain and Kiaya has not been seen since.

Officials are considering all possibilities, including the possibility that Kiaya - who is not from the area - was swept away in a flash flood. The amber alert described her disappearance as an abduction, but CBI says the alert was issued as a precaution and there is no evidence to either confirm or rule out an abduction.

Kiaya is described as a 10-year-old white female who is 5 feet 4 inches tall and weighs about 150 pounds. She was last seen wearing an orange Broncos shirt and light blue pants. She had a black back pack with a white and grey camouflage pattern.

Anyone who sees Kiaya is urged to call 911 immediately, or call the Thornton Police Department at 720-977-5069 if you have any other information that could help investigators in their search.
