Florida Amber Alert: Jessica Matias-Francisco abducted from Fort Myers

A Florida Amber Alert has been issued for 14-year-old Jessica Matias-Francisco after she was allegedly abducted from Fort Myers by an older teenager, police say. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 immediately. (more)

The incident happened earlier on Monday when Jessica was allegedly taken from the 400 block of Tyrone Avenue in Fort Myers, but specific details about the circumstances of her disappearance were not immediately disclosed.

The suspect was identified as Paulo Mateo Pedro Tomas, an 18-year-old male. He is believed to have taken Jessica in a silver 2005 Chevrolet with Florida license plate 164RMX. The plate was stolen from another vehicle, according to the Lee County Sheriff's Office.

Jessica is described as a 14-year-old white/Hispanic female with black hair and brown eyes, standing 3 feet 11 inches tall and weighing 116 pounds. She was last seen wearing blue jeans and a blue and white horizontal striped shirt.

Anyone who sees Jessica, Paulo, or the suspect vehicle is urged to call 911 immediately, or call the Lee County Sheriff's Office at 1-239-477-1000 if you have any other information that could help investigators in their search.
