The incident happened at about 12:53 p.m. on Friday when Jace Brunt was forcibly taken from his biological mother by his non-custodial father and his girlfriend, who have been identified as 25-year-old Joshua Andrew Brunt and 24-year-old Jasmine Brunt or Jasmine Redmond.

"The father allegedly used a firearm to force compliance and the girlfriend allegedly used mace / OC spray during the event," the amber alert said. "The violent actions at the scene indicate that Jace is in imminent danger."

Joshua, Jasmine, and the child left the 1700 block of S. 35th Street, heading south in a newer style white Dodge Charger with an unknown license plate. The vehicle has damage on the rear end and rear driver side, according to police.

Joshua is described as a 25-year-old black male, standing 6 feet 1 inch tall. He has a muscular build and was last seen wearing red shorts and a tank top, with tattoos on both his arms and neck.

Jasmine is described as a 24-year-old black female with brown hair in a pony tail with long braids, standing 5 feet 8 inches tall and of slender build. She was last seen wearing a black spaghetti strap tank top and green basketball shorts.

Anyone who sees either Jace, Joshua, Jasmine, or the suspect vehicle is urged to call 911 immediately, or call the Kansas City Police Department at 913-596-3000 if you have any other information that could help investigators.
