Cheylynn was staying with her father, 45-year-old Carl Fortney, and was supposed to be dropped off at home in Carl Ray Fortney on Sunday evening. Cherity, who is not supposed to be with her stepfather, also didn't show up at home. Both girls failed to show up for school on Monday.

The children were last seen at 4885 US Route 60 in Huntington, according to the amber alert, which was issued on Wednesday afternoon. "[The children] are believed to be in extreme danger," the amber alert added, providing no further details.

Carl is believed to have taken the children in a company truck, a white 2013 Volvo D12 semi-truck with red/blue lettering on the door and Kentucky license plate number A61916. The lettering may say "Coretrans.com" and cab number 679.

The company has reported the vehicle as stolen and its tracking system has been disabled.

Carl is described as a 45-year-old white male with salt/pepper hair and brown eyes, standing 6 feet 6 inches tall and weighing about 215 pounds. Authorities have not disclosed what may be his motive for taking the children, but he is facing charges of kidnapping and child abduction.

Cheylynn is described as a 6-year-old white female with brown hair and hazel eyes, standing 3 feet 5 inches tall and weighing about 53 pounds. Cherity is described as a 14-year-old white female with brown hair and hazel eyes, standing 5 feet 3 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. She has braces on her teeth.

Anyone who sees either Carl, Cheylynn, Cherity, or the suspect vehicle is urged to call 911 immediately, or call the Cabell County Sheriff's Office at 304-526-8585 if you have any other information that could help investigators.
