Rapper Young Dolph injured in shooting in Hollywood

Rapper Young Dolph has been injured in a shooting outside the Hollywood and Highland Center in Hollywood area of Los Angeles. The shooter remains at large and only few details were immediately available. (more)

The incident happened at about 1:25 p.m. PT on Tuesday when officers were called to Shoe Palace near Hollywood Boulevard and Highland Avenue after a man walked into the store while bleeding. Shoe Palace is just outside the mall.

The shooting is believed to have occurred in the valet parking area of the Loews Hollywood Hotel, which is a short walk from the shoe store. Details about the exact circumstances of the shooting were not immediately available.

Local media said Young Dolph was the victim of the shooting. The rapper, whose real name is Adolph Thornton, Jr., suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to an area hospital, where he is believed to be in a stable condition.

One man was detained at the scene of the shooting, but officials say he is not the shooter. "We currently do not have a description of suspect(s). This shooting investigation is still on going," a police spokesman said.
