United Airlines Flight 107, a Boeing 777 flying from Munich to Washington Dulles International Airport, landed at Logan Airport at about 3:39 p.m. on Sunday. Fire crews were called due to reports that the aircraft was experiencing a fire in the rear section of the plane.

"United Airlines 107 landed safely at on Runway 15 Right at Boston Logan International Airport at 3:40 pm after the crew declared an emergency and reported a possible fire on board," said Kathleen Bergen, a spokeswoman for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The incident was upgraded to a second alarm and fire crews surrounded the aircraft on the runway, but a photo from the scene showed no evidence of smoke coming from the aircraft. It appears the fire was relatively small and happened in the kitchen area in the back of the aircraft.

"Passengers did not evacuate from the aircraft. Workers are towing the Boeing 777 off the runway," Bergen said.

There were no reports of injuries as a result of the incident, but flights were briefly affected, according to the website of the FAA.
