Shooting at King of Prussia Mall in Pennsylvania, 1 injured

Police and other emergency services in Pennsylvania are at the scene of a shooting at the King of Prussia Mall (KOP) in Montgomery County, officials say. One person has been taken to hospital but only few details are available. (more)

The incident happened just before 4 p.m. on Sunday when police and paramedics were called to reports of a shooting in the parking garage near the mall's Court section.

According to initial reports, one person was taken to hospital after being shot outside the King of Prussia Mall. There was no immediate word on the condition or identity of the victim.

Roads in the area have been closed but authorities do not believe there is a threat to the general public. As a result, the shopping mall is not on lockdown and the stores remain open.

Specific details about the circumstances of the incident have not yet released, but police have not reported any arrests at this time.

The King of Prussia Mall is the largest shopping mall in the United States, covering an area of approximately 2.9 million square feet. it is home to more than 400 retailers, as well as food courts and restaurants.
