Utah Amber Alert: 2 young sisters abducted from Iron County

A Utah Amber Alert has been issued for 8-year-old Elizabeth Dinah Coltharp and 4-year-old Hattie Briella Coltharp after they were allegedly abducted from Iron County, officials say. Anyone with information is urged to call 911 immediately.

The incident happened earlier on Monday when the two sisters were allegedly taken by their father, 34-year-old Samual Warren Shaffer, who is also with two of his other children, Lillie and Samantha Shaffer. Specific details about the circumstances of the abduction were not immediately released.

Shaffer is described as a white male with brown hair and hazel eyes, standing 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing black pants, a black puffy coat, and a camouflaged boonie hat, according to the amber alert.

Elizabeth is described as an 8-year-old white female with brown hair and brown eyes, standing 4 feet 9 inches tall and weighing 45 pounds. She was last seen wearing a blue dress, gray pants under the dress, hiking boots which are possibly camouflaged, and a camouflaged jacket.

Hattie is described as a 4-year-old white female with brown hair and brown eyes, standing 2 feet 10 inches tall and weighing about 37 pounds. She was last seen wearing blue spandex pants with purple polka dots and a short sleeve shirt of an unknown color.

Anyone who sees either Dinah, Hattie, or Samual is urged to call 911 immediately, or call the Iron County Sheriff's Office at 435-876-7500 if you have any other information that could help investigators in their search.
