A small fire broke out Wednesday at the New York home of former U.S. President Bill Clinton and former U.S. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, the Secret Service said. There were no reports of injuries.

The incident happened at around 2:40 p.m. ET on Wednesday when a Secret Service employee called firefighters for a fire at the Clinton family's home at 15 Old House Lane in Chappaqua, which is a community in Westchester County.

The Secret Service said the fire broke out in the ceiling of the second floor in a detached structure located behind the main residence. Although the fire was quickly put out with fire extinguishers, firefighters inspected the area above the fire to ensure it had been completely extinguished.

A number of emergency services, including at least one ambulance, responded to the scene, but no injuries were reported. The Secret Service said Bill and Hillary Clinton were not at home when the fire broke out.

The cause of Wednesday's fire was not immediately known.

The Clintons bought the 5,300-square-foot home on Old House Lane back in 1999, when Bill was still in office as president of the United States. In 2016, during the presidential campaign, the Clintons bought the home next door and merged the compounds.
