              Former Yemeni President Ali Abdullah Saleh, who ruled the country for more than 3 decades before being forced to resign, has been shot dead near the capital Sana'a after he appeared to split with the Houthi militia.

              The death toll from two bomb explosions at a mosque in the Yemeni capital of Sana'a has risen to 28, the Houthi-controlled Saba news agency reports, citing a security source. At least 75 others were injured. The attack happened on Wednesday evening when a suicide bomber blew himself up among worshipers inside a mosque, followed by a car bombing outside the building as rescue workers arrived at the scene. The Islamic State in Yemen claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement distributed on Twitter. Footage shown by local TV channels showed a gruesome scene inside the mosque, with bodies and body parts littered across the floor.

              At least 20 people have been killed and dozens more have been injured after two bombs exploded at a mosque in the Yemeni capital Sana'a, Al-Masirah TV reported, citing a spokesman for the Houthi-controlled health ministry. The attack happened on Wednesday night in the capital's northern district. Photos from the scene showed a number of bodies and body parts. The Islamic State group in Yemen claimed responsibility for the attack in a statement on Twitter, the Reuters news agency reported. The statement said a suicide bomber had blown himself up inside the mosque, followed by a car bombing near Houthi medics outside the mosque.

              The death toll from a car bombing at a city administration building in Al Bayda in central Yemen has risen to 10 while two others were wounded, the Houthi-controlled Saba news agency reports. Additionally, the agency revised an earlier report that claimed "many" citizens had been killed and injured in a car bombing near a hospital in the capital Sana'a. The agency now says that while it happened close to a hospital, the attack appears to have targeted a mosque, injuring eight people. The AFP news agency reports that the Islamic State (ISIS) claimed responsibility for the attack in Sana'a.
