2 yrs | N. Korea ‘executed more than 70 officials’ since Kim Jong Un took power - Seoul

The North Korean government has purged and executed more than 70 officials in the 3.5 years since leader Kim Jong Un took power, South Korean Foreign Minister Yun Byung-se has claimed. "It is a sevenfold increase, compared with the first three years of Chairman Kim Jong-il's leadership. It's extremely unusual," the minister said, as cited by the Yonhap news agency. Yun did not specify the source of his information, but the number is lower than the one previously provided by South Korea's spy agency, which had claimed some 90 officials had been executed.
