              Wrestling legend 'Rowdy' Roddy Piper has unexpectedly died in California, his family has confirmed. "Our family is saddened by the sudden passing of our father and beloved husband, Roderick Toombs aka Rowdy Roddy Piper," said a brief family statement. TMZ reported that Piper died from cardiac arrest while sleeping at his home in Hollywood. He had been expected to do a podcast interview today with Earl Skakel, who went to Twitter to express his shock. "If true I don't know what to say, [Roddy Piper] was supposed to come over at 2 pm today, I love him very much," he wrote.

              A light but very shallow earthquake has rattled the Los Angeles area, waking up many residents in the region, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) reports. The 4.3-magnitude earthquake at 5:54 a.m. local time was centered close to Fontana, or about 46 miles (74 kilometers) east of Los Angeles. It struck just 2.8 miles (4.5 kilometers) below the surface, but there were no immediate reports of damage or injuries.

              Theodore Bikel, who is perhaps best remembered for his Broadway roles as Captain von Trapp in "The Sound of Music" and Tevye in "Fiddler on the Roof," has died at the age of 91, publicist Harlan Boll says in a statement. Bikel died this morning at UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles as a result of natural causes. Theo is survived by his wife, Aimee Ginsburg-Bikel, and sons Rob and Danny Bikel.               Caitlyn Jenner, 65, formerly known as Bruce, accepted the Arthur Ashe Courage Award at the ESPYS Wednesday night in Los Angeles, California. Jenner is the 1976 Olympic men's decathlon champion and decided to come out as transgender earlier this year following her ABC 20/20 interview with Diane Sawyer. "This transition has been harder on me than anything I could imagine," she said. "It's about all of us accepting one another." Jenner's children and family, including her mother, were also at the ceremony for support.
