 2 yrs | ‘All clear’ at Los Angeles International Airport after bomb threat

              The all clear has been given after a bomb threat prompted evacuations at Los Angeles International Airport. An announcement to passengers said the incident had been cleared and officers were allowing people back into an area that had been evacuated. A spokesperson for Los Angeles Airport Police confirmed that no threat had been found after someone called into a bomb threat to the FBI. A number of flights were experiencing delays as a result of the incident.

 2 yrs | Bomb threat prompts evacuations at Los Angeles International Airport

              Parts of terminals 3 through 6 at Los Angeles International Airport have been evacuated after a bomb threat was phoned in to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). A spokesperson for Los Angeles Airport Police said the bomb threat involves a Department of Homeland Security (DHS) van, but provided no further details. Passengers in the affected terminals have been directed to the upper levels while the bomb squad investigates the threat. A perimeter has been set up and traffic near the terminals is being detoured. Los Angeles International Airport is expecting a record 835,000 travelers to pass through LAX this Labor Day weekend.

              Actor Dean Jones, who is best remembered for his roles in Disney films "The Love Bug" and "That Darn Cat," but also for other movies such as "Beethoven," has died, Variety reports. He was 84. He died in Los Angeles on Tuesday after previously being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease.
