              Avid Life Media, the owner of Ashley Madison, says its chief executive, Noel Biderman, is stepping down after hackers stole information belonging to more than 30 million users, but adds that the infidelity website will continue to operate. "This change is in the best interest of the company and allows us to continue to provide support to our members and dedicated employees. We are steadfast in our commitment to our customer base," the company said in a statement, calling Biderman's resignation a mutual agreement. "We are actively adjusting to the attack on our business and members' privacy by criminals. We will continue to provide access to our unique platforms for our worldwide members," it added.

 2 yrs | 2 suicides reported in connection with release of Ashley Madison user data

              Two suicides have been reported in connection with the release of stolen user data from infidelity website Ashley Madison, Toronto Police official Bryce Evans said at a press conference on Monday. Toronto police is leading the international investigation into the hack that exposed information about more than 30 million users, but Evans declined to say where the suicides took place, saying only that the reports were being investigated. "The ripple-effect of the Impact Team's actions has and will continue to have a long-term social and economic impact, and they have already sparked spin-offs of crimes and further victimization," he said.
