          A woman has been taken into custody after crashing her vehicle into a security barrier near the White House, the Secret Service says. The White House was put on lockdown but there are no reports of injuries.

‘Active shooter’ scare on I Street NW in Washington, D.C.


          Police and other emergency services in Washington, D.C. were called to a report of an active shooter in the 1400 block of I Street, but it quickly turned out to be a false alarm. The scene is near McPherson Square Station and just a few blocks from the White House.
