The incident was reported at about 3:45 p.m. on Thursday near 240 Morrissey Boulevard at the Dorchester campus, local outlet WCVB reported. A large police and emergency response was seen on campus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Massachusetts State Police said troopers responded to UMass Boston after receiving an unconfirmed report of a shooting. Boston EMS staged multiple units at the scene, while the university issued alerts warning of a \u201cpublic safety threat\u201d near the Residence Hall East building and a police incident near the Campus Center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hours later, UMass Boston said the campus had been cleared. \u201cPolice have reported the incident on campus all clear. There is no ongoing threat to the community,\u201d the school said in an alert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Massachusetts State Police said law enforcement will continue to investigate and urged anyone with relevant information to contact police.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
