The comments were made on Monday, when Trump was asked whether he would consider launching strikes or sending American personnel into Mexico. \u201cWould I launch strikes on Mexico to stop drugs? It\u2019s okay with me,\u201d Trump said. \u201cWhatever we have to do to stop drugs.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Since September, U.S. Southern Command has confirmed at least 22 strikes on vessels alleged to be involved in drug trafficking in the Caribbean and Eastern Pacific, resulting in 83 deaths. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Local Mexican media reports said several of the Eastern Pacific strikes occurred off Mexico\u2019s western coast. The most recent operation took place on Saturday, when a U.S. aircraft struck a vessel described as being operated by a designated terrorist organization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump claimed the United States has \u201cevery one\u201d of the routes used by traffickers under surveillance and said authorities know \u201cthe addresses of every drug lord.\u201d \u201cThey are killing our people,\u201d he said. \u201cThat’s like a war.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Trump added that he is \u201cnot happy with Mexico,\u201d citing the flow of narcotics into the United States.
