Even though I was over the bronchitis and back on stage at the Westgate Las Vegas, my wonderful doctor ordered an MRI just to make sure that everything was OK,” Manilow said. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
“The MRI discovered a cancerous spot on my left lung that needs to be removed. It\u2019s pure luck (and a great doctor) that it was found so early. That\u2019s the good news,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Manilow said doctors do not believe the cancer has spread and that no chemotherapy or radiation is planned. He said he will need about a month to recover and that his January concerts will be rescheduled.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Manilow, 82, is a Grammy-winning singer and songwriter known for songs including \u201cMandy,\u201d \u201cCopacabana,\u201d and \u201cCan\u2019t Smile Without You.\u201d He has sold more than 85 million records worldwide and has maintained a long-running concert residency in Las Vegas. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
