The crash occurred Monday at about 2:02 p.m. when a black 2022 BMW SUV drove into the front lobby of the Shrewsbury Police Department headquarters, according to police<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The driver was the sole occupant of the vehicle and was taken to a local hospital with injuries. No officers, staff members, or members of the public were injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Shrewsbury police chief Kevin Anderson said officers on and off duty immediately rendered first aid. He said the incident appeared to be intentional but that police do not have a motive at this time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The chief said the vehicle drove through exterior pylons, the front doors, the lobby, and into the dispatch area, where three dispatchers were working at the time. He said a training session had concluded in a nearby room about 30 minutes before the crash.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Anderson said the driver is a local male resident who police had previous contact with, though not since 2019. He said investigators and the district attorney\u2019s office are reviewing the case and that charges are expected.
