The plane was carrying 13 passengers and two crew members.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Local media later <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CaracolCucuta\/status\/2016619803817938992\">reported<\/a> that the aircraft was found crashed in a rural area known as Curasica, in the municipality of Playa de Bel\u00e9n. Officials indicated there were no survivors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The flight was operated by Satena, Colombia\u2019s government-owned regional carrier. The air force and civil aviation authorities deployed aircraft and ground teams to locate the plane and support the investigation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a statement, Satena said the flight, designated NSE 8849, reported its last contact with air traffic control shortly before midday local time while en route to Oca\u00f1a. The airline said the aircraft was operated by contractor SEARCA. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Among those killed was Di\u00f3genes Quintero, a candidate for Colombia\u2019s House of Representatives from Norte de Santander, his party <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/partidodelaucol\/status\/2016627062996349099\">said<\/a>. He was traveling on the aircraft with members of his team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities said the investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
