{"id":64131,"date":"2026-02-01T19:06:52","date_gmt":"2026-02-02T00:06:52","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/bnonews.com\/?p=64131"},"modified":"2026-02-01T19:07:03","modified_gmt":"2026-02-02T00:07:03","slug":"1-killed-3-wounded-over-parking-space-dispute-in-downtown-seattle","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bnonews.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/1-killed-3-wounded-over-parking-space-dispute-in-downtown-seattle\/","title":{"rendered":"1 killed, 3 injured over parking space dispute in downtown Seattle"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>One man was killed and three other people were wounded after a fight over a parking space escalated into a shooting inside a downtown Seattle parking garage, according to police and local media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shooting occurred around 1:30 a.m. Sunday in the 500 block of Second Avenue at the Sinking Ship parking garage in downtown Seattle, near the Pioneer Square area, police <a href=\"https:\/\/spdblotter.seattle.gov\/2026\/02\/01\/detectives-investigating-homicide-in-downtown-seattle\/\">said<\/a>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Patrol officers found a man with a fatal gunshot wound to the head, and the Seattle Fire Department pronounced him dead at the scene. Police said a second victim, a man, suffered life-threatening injuries and was treated at the scene before being transported to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A third victim, a woman, was treated for a graze wound and taken to the same hospital in stable condition. A fourth victim, also a woman, later arrived with a graze wound and was listed in stable condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Detectives determined that a physical fight broke out inside the parking garage and escalated into a gunfight involving multiple people. \u201cAt this time, we believe multiple people were shooting,\u201d Detective Mu\u00f1oz said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Witnesses told <a href=\"https:\/\/komonews.com\/news\/local\/one-dead-3-other-injured-after-parking-garage-shooting-in-pioneer-square-crime-gun-investigation-murder-death-injury-suspect-tips-911-witness-illegal\">KOMO News<\/a> that the fight may have started over a parking space inside the garage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Two people were arrested later at the scene for disturbances, but Mu\u00f1oz said those arrests are unrelated to the homicide investigation.
