Brad Arnold, a founder, lead singer and songwriter of 3 Doors Down, has died at the age of 47, according to a family statement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The family said Arnold died Saturday after a battle with cancer. “With his beloved wife Jennifer and his family by his side, he passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, in his sleep,\u201d the statement<\/a> said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Arnold was a founding member of 3 Doors Down and served as the band\u2019s primary vocalist and a key songwriter. The Mississippi-based band rose to national prominence in the early 2000s with Kryptonite, which became one of the defining rock songs of the era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cKryptonite,\u201d which Arnold wrote as a teenager while still in high school, has accumulated more than 1.2 billion streams on Spotify and over 500 million views on YouTube, according to platform figures.
