President Trump said he is willing to accept whatever the report concludes about the strike on a girls\u2019 school in southern Iran during the opening stage of the U.S.-Israel military operation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at the White House<\/a> on Monday, Trump made the comment after being pressed on his earlier suggestion that a Tomahawk missile seen in footage from the strike could have been used by another country.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cThe Tomahawk, which is one of the most powerful weapons around, is sold and used by other countries,\u201d Trump said. \u201cWhether it is Iran, who also has some Tomahawks, the fact is that the Tomahawk is very generic. It\u2019s sold to other countries, but that is being investigated right now.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n When asked why he was the only person in his government publicly raising that possibility, Trump said he did not know enough about the case to say more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n “Numerous other nations have Tomahawks. They buy them from us,” Trump added. “But I will certainly, whatever the report shows, I\u2019m willing to live with that report.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Reuters reported<\/a> on Thursday that U.S. military investigators believe it is likely U.S. forces were responsible for the apparent strike, citing two U.S. officials. The outlet said investigators had not yet reached a final conclusion or completed their work, and that officials had not ruled out the possibility that new evidence could point to another party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The school in Minab was hit on Saturday during the first day of U.S. and Israeli attacks on Iran.
