The incident happened on Saturday during the opening ceremony of Virginia Tech\u2019s spring game. Videos taken by people in the stadium showed the skydiver, who was carrying a large American flag, appearing to lose control in windy conditions before slamming into the top of the scoreboard and getting stuck in the large Virginia Tech lettering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Onlookers could be heard gasping as the crash unfolded. The game was briefly delayed while crews responded and worked to secure the skydiver. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Cheers erupted after firefighters used a ladder to bring the skydiver down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Virginia Tech Athletics later said the skydiver had been safely secured and was in stable condition. Officials did not release details about any possible injuries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
