An Indian man was killed and 63 people were injured when Iranian drones struck Kuwait International Airport and other civilian sites, causing extensive damage to Terminal 1 and forcing a halt to air traffic, according to Kuwaiti officials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The attack happened yesterday, when drones and missiles targeted Kuwait International Airport and other facilities across the country. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Kuwait\u2019s General Authority of Civil Aviation released surveillance footage showing the first moments of the strike on Terminal 1, including a drone impact and explosions inside and outside the airport.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The victim was identified by Kuwait Times<\/a> as Manzoor Ahmed Rehman, a 54-year-old Indian resident of Kuwait from the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh. He had arrived at Terminal 1 to board a flight to Mumbai via Bahrain when debris from the attack struck the terminal area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n India\u2019s Ministry of External Affairs condemned<\/a> the attack, saying an Indian national had been killed and several Indian citizens were injured.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cSince the onset of the conflict in West Asia, we have strongly urged that civilian population and civilian infrastructure must not be targeted,\u201d the ministry said. \u201cWe again call upon parties to cease such attacks.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kuwait\u2019s Health Ministry<\/a> said emergency services handled the injuries at the airport, with 63 people taken to hospitals. The ministry said some victims suffered severe injuries, including fractures, bleeding, burns, smoke inhalation and other injuries caused by blast debris.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Footage from the airport showed a drone hitting near Terminal 1 and an explosion tearing through part of the building.
