The suspect fled the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The shooting happened just after 9 a.m. on Thursday at the Amazon facility in Melrose Park, a suburb about 12 miles west of downtown Chicago. Officers were called to the delivery station in the 1800 block of North Fifth Avenue and found the victim in an employee garage.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Cook County Medical Examiner\u2019s Office identified the victim as Travion R. Taylor, 27, of Chicago, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7chicago.com\/post\/melrose-park-shooting-kills-1-amazon-fulfillment-center-employee-garage-fifth-avenue-village-official\/19234254\/\">WLS<\/a>. He was taken to Loyola University Medical Center, where he died.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Authorities believe the shooting stemmed from a personal dispute, according to WLS. No threat to the public was reported, but the alleged shooter has not been taken into custody.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Melrose Park police asked anyone who was in the area or may have witnessed the shooting to contact investigators.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThis is a senseless tragedy,\u201d Amazon spokesperson Lex Evans told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcchicago.com\/news\/local\/man-killed-in-shooting-at-suburban-amazon-building-identified-by-authorities\/3944329\">NBC Chicago<\/a>. \u201cOur thoughts are with our employee\u2019s family, friends, and our team at our Melrose Park delivery station. Right now, our priority is supporting them.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Evans said the delivery station had been deemed safe and that Amazon had added additional security.
