A suspect has barricaded himself inside an apartment building in Minneapolis after deputies were fired upon while serving an arrest warrant, according to officials. No injuries have been reported.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The incident began late Tuesday morning near West 28th Street and Nicollet Avenue in South Minneapolis, where Hennepin County deputies were fired upon while attempting to serve an arrest warrant, according to the sheriff\u2019s office.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The suspect, described as an adult white male, is not in custody and remains barricaded inside the apartment building, according to the sheriff\u2019s office. The building has been evacuated, and crisis negotiators are at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

FOX 9<\/a> reported that police at the scene said the suspect was inside the apartment building with a long rifle and explosives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The FBI and ATF also responded to the scene, according to KSTP<\/a>. Sources told the station that deputies were serving a Minnesota Department of Corrections warrant for illegal possession of guns and ammunition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sources also told KSTP that the suspect was holding a woman and child hostage when he opened fire on deputies. The woman and child have since been released and are believed to be safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
