A 21-year-old woman died in Brazil after workers at a bungee-jumping event threw her from a bridge without attaching her to the safety cord, causing her to fall about 130 feet (40 meters), according to local media reports. Six people linked to the event have been detained.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The incident happened on Saturday morning at the “Skeleton Bridge” in Limeira, a city in Brazil\u2019s S\u00e3o Paulo state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Witnesses told Military Police that workers appeared to have forgotten to attach the safety cord before she was pushed from the platform, according to g1<\/a>. Video shared on social media showed workers carrying her to the platform before the fall, followed by people shouting about the rope.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Responding emergency crews pronounced her dead at the scene.<\/p>\n\n\n\n g1 identified the victim as Maria Eduarda Rodrigues de Freitas and reported that she had shared posts from the site before the jump, showing the event setup and people using equipment on the bridge.
