Two people who climbed the spire of the Empire State Building in New York City have been arrested, and police released body camera footage showing officers reaching them high above Midtown Manhattan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The pair were identified as Angela Nikolau and Ivan Kuznetsov, who appeared in the 2024 Netflix documentary \u201cSkywalkers: A Love Story,\u201d according to WABC<\/a>. The film followed the couple\u2019s climbs on rooftops and high-rise structures around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The incident happened Wednesday afternoon after the two climbed onto the Empire State Building\u2019s spire. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Photos and video from the scene showed them standing on a platform high above the city, where they unfurled a banner reading, \u201cWhen the power of love beats the love of power, the world knows peace.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Kuznetsov also appeared to propose marriage to Nikolau while on the spire.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
