Lauren Bennett, a British singer who was a member of the girl group G.R.L. and was featured on LMFAO\u2019s global hit \u201cParty Rock Anthem,\u201d has died, according to her bandmates. She was 37.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G.R.L. announced Bennett\u2019s death in a statement on Monday. The cause of death was not immediately released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cIt is with great sadness that we share the passing of our beloved Lauren,\u201d the group said in an Instagram post<\/a>. \u201cOur hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bennett rose to international recognition in 2011 when she was featured on \u201cParty Rock Anthem\u201d by LMFAO. The song became one of the biggest pop hits of the decade and helped make Bennett\u2019s voice familiar to listeners around the world.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Before G.R.L., Bennett was a member of Paradiso Girls, a pop group formed in the late 2000s. She later became part of G.R.L., which was created by Pussycat Dolls founder Robin Antin and included Emmalyn Estrada, Natasha Slayton, Paula van Oppen and Simone Battle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

G.R.L. released songs including \u201cVacation,\u201d \u201cUgly Heart\u201d and \u201cLighthouse.\u201d The group drew wider attention with \u201cUgly Heart\u201d in 2014, but was also marked by tragedy when Battle died later that year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Our hearts are broken, and we cannot begin to express how much she meant to us,” the group said. “We will forever cherish the love, laughter, and countless memories she gave us.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cHer beautiful spirit touched so many lives, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved,\u201d the group added. \u201cRest peacefully, sweet Lauren. You will always be in our hearts.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
