A man in a wheelchair is expected to recover after a suspect threw a Molotov cocktail directly at him outside Oklahoma City police headquarters, setting him on fire before detectives and a bystander pulled him to safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The attack happened around 8 a.m. on July 2 near West Main Street and North Lee Avenue in downtown Oklahoma City, across the street from Oklahoma City Police Department headquarters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police released surveillance video<\/a> Tuesday showing a man in a wheelchair in the street as another man approached from nearby, holding what appeared to be an incendiary device. The man then threw it toward the victim.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An Oklahoma City police detective and a nearby bystander quickly ran toward the victim and pulled him from the fire, while another detective detained the suspect at the scene. Oklahoma City firefighters later arrived and provided medical aid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

KWTV<\/a>, citing officials, identified the suspect as 38-year-old Alexander Emery. Court records show his bond was set at $50,000.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Emery was charged with first-degree arson, assault and battery with a deadly weapon, injuring another person by use of an explosive, manufacturing an explosive device and assault with intent to kill.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Police said the victim is expected to recover. Details about what led to the attack were not immediately released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
