In-town pool report 4: Lid - somewhat audible Trump remarks

We have a travel/photo lid for the day as of 7:49 p.m.

The Rose Garden dinner did not open up but we were able to overhear some remarks — see below. It sounded like it included members of Congress, or at least Speaker Johnson.
Around 6:45, your pooler did see the members of the Marine Band carrying their instruments along the driveway toward the West Wing entrance, and there are what appeared to be catering crews taking trays of food and drinks inside the White House, as well.

Snippets of Trump’s remarks were audible from the driveway outside the briefing room, when the noisy AC vents and construction weren’t interfering. Here is what your pool was able to hear under the circumstances.
At 7:32 Trump was introduced to “Proud to be an American” and applause
Trump referred to the audience as “people I love and respect” and welcomed them to the Rose Garden Club.

He talked about fixing up the White House and highlighted the “Presidential Walk of Fame,” starting with George Washington (and a brief aside about the pronunciation of Abraham Lincoln’s name)

He said the Supreme Court decision this week means “we gotta pass the SAVE Act” and it’s much more important.  Then he said, “the best decision by far was the Slaughter decision.”
He mentioned what sounded like China and Daylight Savings Time before being drowned out by the AC.

When he was audible again, he was talking about having: “356 wins and one loss, and the one loss was bad information by my people.”

He then talked about the people who were “voting for the Trump agenda every single time and I said … I want a dinner in the Rose Garden for people that voted every single time, and these are my people.”

He talked about Washington as one of the safest cities, saying they cleaned it up.

Then he introduced Speaker Mike Johnson to a round of applause.

That was all we could make out — have a great night!
