Several injured in shooting at cannabis dispensary in Laredo, Texas
Several people were injured in a shooting at a cannabis dispensary in Laredo, Texas, according to police.
The shooting happened at about 2:20 p.m. on Wednesday at a shopping center on McPherson Road, according to the Laredo Police Department. Local media identified the business as The Healing Clinic.
Multiple people were injured, though the exact number and their conditions were not immediately known. According to local media, several of the victims went to hospitals on their own.
Laredo police said investigators are continuing to interview victims and witnesses as they work to determine what happened and what led to the gunfire. No arrests have been announced.
“There were no threats to the local establishments next door or to any of the residents nearby,” Laredo police spokesman Jose Espinoza said. “Everything was contained at the local establishment. It’s believed that it was a discussion that led to the shooting.”
