15-year-old shoots teacher; kills himself at Texas high school
A teacher was shot by a student at a high school in Bulverde, Texas, according to authorities. The 15-year-old teen fatally shot himself.
The shooting happened Monday morning at Hill Country College Preparatory High School on Wiley Road in Bulverde, a small city north of San Antonio, when the 15-year-old student shot a teacher before fatally shooting himself, according to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office.
The identity of the student and a possible motive were not immediately released. The school was placed on lockdown as officers responded.
The sheriff’s office said the teacher was taken to a hospital in San Antonio. As of Monday evening, there was no update on her condition.
Authorities said students were taken to Bulverde Middle School for reunification with their parents while law enforcement remained on campus. The sheriff’s office said there is no ongoing threat to students, and that the investigation remains ongoing.
