3 found dead at residence in Lakewood, California
Three people, including a 17-year-old girl, were found dead at a residence in Lakewood, California, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
Deputies were called to the 5800 block of Lorelei Avenue at around 8 a.m. on Thursday, when a woman exited the home as officers arrived, officials said during a press briefing. Deputies entered the residence and found three people dead inside.
Authorities said the victims included one adult male, one adult female, and a 17-year-old female, all of whom were pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators believe the three are related.
The woman who came out of the home was taken into custody for questioning. Officials stated that she has not been identified as a suspect, and said the investigation remains ongoing. “Nothing has been ruled out,” authorities said.
A handgun was found inside the residence. Authorities said there is no outside threat and no danger to the community.
The location is in a residential area near Stephen Foster Elementary School, just northeast of Long Beach Airport. The investigation is being handled by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau.
