FBI raises reward to $100,000; releases suspect details in Nancy Guthrie case

The FBI has increased its reward to $100,000 for information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie, the mother of NBC “Today” show co-anchor Savannah Guthrie. The agency also released new details about a suspect captured on doorbell camera footage.

The increase from the initial $50,000 offer was announced on Thursday by the FBI’s Phoenix field office. The reward applies to information leading to Guthrie’s location or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.

The FBI also released new identifying details about the suspect shown on doorbell camera footage, who is described as a male between 5 feet 9 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall with an average build. He was carrying a black, 25-liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack.

Guthrie was last seen late on January 31 when family members dropped her at her residence north of Tucson. She was reported missing the following day after family members and friends were unable to reach her.

Investigators believe Guthrie was taken from her home against her will. Blood matching her DNA was found on the front porch of the residence, according to officials.

Officials are asking residents in the Tucson area to submit any available video footage from doorbell cameras or other devices that may show suspicious activity near her residence.

Today, the FBI is increasing its reward up to $100,000 for information leading to the location of Nancy Guthrie and/or the arrest and conviction of anyone involved in her disappearance.
