Multiple people found dead after shooting at home in Sarasota, Florida
Multiple people have been found dead at a home in Sarasota, Florida, following a shooting incident, according to officials.
The incident happened at about 12:24 p.m. on Tuesday when deputies were dispatched to a home at 4822 Fallcrest Circle in the Amberlea subdivision, according to the Sarasota County Sheriff’s Office. The first deputy arrived on the scene five minutes later.
Deputies discovered multiple victims inside the residence, according to a spokesperson of the sheriff’s office. An exact count has not yet been released.
“The scene is limited to the home,” the spokesperson said. “It appears that all persons are accounted for, therefore being an isolated incident.”
There were no immediate details on a suspect or suspects, and while the circumstances suggest a possible murder-suicide, officials have not yet confirmed the motive.
Investigators recovered a weapon at the scene and found no signs of forced entry. While deputies had been dispatched to the address twice in the past, officials said the residence was not considered a location of “suspicious nature.”
The identities of the victims were not immediately released pending the notification of next of kin. Crime Scene, Forensics, and Criminal Investigation units were dispatched to the scene.
