6 people shot, 3 killed, at Annapolis, Maryland home
At least six people were shot, three fatally, when gunfire erupted at a home in Annapolis, Maryland, according to local officials. One person – described as a “person of interest” – was taken into custody.
The incident happened at around 8 p.m. on Sunday when officers were called for a shooting with multiple victims at a home in the 1000 block of Paddington Place, a quiet neighborhood in Annapolis.
Police Chief Ed Jackson said 6 men were shot, including 3 people who died of their injuries. The victims range in age from early 20s to early 50s and all were known to each other.
“It’s unusual for Annapolis,” Jackson said. “We don’t get very many calls of this nature in this area.”
There was no immediate word on the exact circumstances of Sunday’s shooting, which Jackson described as stemming from an “interpersonal dispute.” He said the shooting involved an exchange of gunfire.
A person of interest was taken into custody and a weapon was recovered, but no charges were filed as of late Sunday night. There’s no immediate danger to the public, police said.
