First Lady Melania Trump undergoes surgery for kidney condition
U.S. First Lady Melania Trump has undergone successful surgery for a “benign” kidney condition, the White House said on Monday, adding that she will remain in hospital for up to a week.
Stephanie Grisham, a spokeswoman for the First Lady, said Trump had undergone an embolization procedure to treat a benign kidney condition. “The procedure was successful and there were no complications,” she said.
Trump is at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Maryland and is expected to remain hospitalized for the duration of the week. “The First Lady looks forward to a full recovery so she can continue her work on behalf of children everywhere,” Grisham said.
Trump, who is 48 years old, is married to President Donald Trump.
